Why you need Tie Down Inspections?

Mobile homes or manufactured homes can be affected by severe weather if not properly tied down. High winds and hurricanes can have adverse effects on homes that are not properly secured. Unlike site-built homes, Manufactured homes are not built into the foundation. By Texas law and HUD require that mobile homes be properly tied down to avoid movement during high winds. Here’s the information from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), about the requirements.

Mobile home tie downs are anchors or straps that are strong enough to keep the home secure during high winds. A certain number of tie downs are required, and they are required to be spaced a specific distance apart. Since 1999, requirements for mobile homes became much stricter.
